Ahly's key attacker, Malick Evouna, will miss the team's preparatory training camp for a week after sustaining an ankle injury during Saturday's session.
"Medical scans have showed that Evouna needs a week to rest due to his ankle," read a statement on the club's official website on Monday.
The Cairo giants are in a closed camp in Emirates as they will play two friendlies preparing for the restart of the Egyptian Premier League season when the take on Smouha on 17 December.
"Evouna is a major doubt for the second friendly," Ahly's doctor said, without referring to the league's restart.
Ahly signed the Gabonese player in July from Morocco's Wydad Casablanca for a reported fee of $2.4 million, one of Egypt's biggest transfers. He was the Moroccan league's top-scorer with 16 goals last season. He made his international debut in 2012.
The Reds are currently seventh in the Egyptian league standings on nine points from four games.
