Ahly skipper Hossam Ghaly has rejected offers to move to several Saudi teams, insisting he wants to continue his career with the Cairo giants.
"I respect all the clubs that have made me offers to move lately… but I want to retire wearing the red jersey," the 34-year-old midfielder said Monday on the club's official website.
Ghaly, who started at Ahly in 2000, has played with other clubs abroad including Tottenham Hotspur, Lierse, Derby County and Feyenoord.
"My contract with Ahly is still ongoing and I will not think about any offers," he added. "All my focus is on training and clinching back the Egyptian Premier League trophy and competing in the African Champions League."
After losing their bid to win a ninth successive league trophy last season to arch-rivals Zamalek, the Reds are currently seventh on the table with nine points from four matches, six behind first-placed Maqasa, who played three more games.
