Zamalek are preparing a deal for Algeria U-23 striker Oussama Darfalou in January as the Cairo giants are looking to strengthen their frontline.

The RC ARBAA (Algeria) striker, who is on loan with Algerian side USMA, produced a string of fine displays with Algeria during the U-23 African Cup of Nations, helping the Desert Warriors qualify for the Olympic Games after finishing second in the continental competition.

Zamalek's assistant coach Sami El-Sheshini, who followed the continental competition, opted for the Algerian striker after monitoring many strikers during the African tournament.

The Egyptian champions are not the only side who showed interest in the 22-year-old, as several Tunisian teams opened negotiations with RC ARBAA to lure the player.

It was reported that the Algerian side rejected a $700,000 bid from Tunisian giants Esperance de Tunis last summer.

Zamalek are looking to increase their firepower as the team's top marksman Bassem Morsi, who helped the 12-time Egyptian champions win a domestic double by hitting 18 goals last season, is yet to regain his form after recovering from an ankle injury.
