Ahly’s newly-appointed Dutch tactician Martin Jol has announced the 20-man squad for Saturday's African Champions League kick-off in round 32 against Recreativo de Libolo of Angola.

The experienced striker Emad Meteb has been ruled out of the squad due to injury alongside of midfielder Amr El-Solaya who hasn't been continentally registered yet.

Despite his recovery from a hamstring injury, first goalkeeper Sherif Ekramy will also miss the Angola trip.

The record holders of eight African Champions League trophies will fly to Angola on Wednesday morning for the African clash, a week before the second leg scheduled for 19 March in Cairo.

Ahly are representing Egypt in the African Champions League this season alongside league winners Zamalek after placing second in the Egyptian Premier League last season.

Their archrivals Zamalek will be facing Union Sportive de Douala of Cameroon in the same round on Sunday.

The two Cairo giants have just hired new European coaches - Ahly signed former Tottenham manager and Dutchman Martin Jol while Zamalek landed Scotland's Alex McLeish.

Ahly remain on top of the league table with 47 points from 21 games, six ahead of second-placed Zamalek.

Ahly 20-man squad announced as follows:

Goalkeepers: Ahmed Adel, Mosad Awad

Defenders: Ahmed Fathi, Bassem Ali, Mohamed Hani, Saad Samir, Rami Rabia, Ahmed Hegazy, Sabri Rahil

Midfielders: Walid Soliman, Ramadan Sobhi, Saleh Gomaa, Ahmed El-Sheikh, Moemen Zakareya, Ahmed Hamdy
