Cairo giants Ahly arrived in Angola's capital, Luanda, on Wednesday ahead of the anticipated test against Recreativo de Libolo in the first leg of African Champions League round of 32.
After a long flight, the Reds reached Luanda amid a damp and rainy climate, according to Ahly's official website.
League champions Zamalek are representing Egypt in the African Champions League this season alongside runners-up Ahly, who are the record holders of the continent's primary club competition with eight titles under their belt.
Ahly will be kicking off this season's bid against Recreativo de Libolo on Saturday, while archrivals Zamalek will take on Cameroon's Union Sportive de Douala a day later at the same round.
The two Cairo powerhouses have just hired new European coaches; Ahly signed former the Dutch Tottenham manager Martin Jol while Zamalek hired Scotland's Alex McLeish.
