Zamalek have approached Ismaily about the possibility of signing their defender Moatasem Salem.

“We decided to send a formal request to Ismaily management for landing their defender Moatasem Salem in January transfer window,” Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan told the club's official website.

During a meeting yesterday with the club’s President, Galal Ibrahim, the Whites’ technical staff identified the need for a top quality defender in January.

“We are in talks with Ismaily management to determine the transfer fee and we will reach a final agreement in the coming few days,” Hassan added.

Zamalek currently lead the Egyptian league table with twenty seven points, seven ahead of their rivals Ahly who lie fifth, with two games in hand.
