Despite his team leading the Egyptian Premier League, Ahly's Dutch coach Martin Jol has revealed his concern over Tuesday's game against Smouha on the 25th matchday at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium.
Ahly's coach, who led the team to the top of the premier league table with 53 points, commented that Smouha will be a tough opponent on Tuesday as the latter team is working to advance their place in the league rankings.
"The Alexandrian side has more talented players and I know them well so the game will be difficult," Jol told reporters after Sunday's training.
Smouha, who are fourth in the table with 41 points, stunned Ahly 3-0 in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League on 17 December.
"I know the first round result -- when they were defeated 3-0 -- could be a motive for Ahly players to achieve a positive result in this game," the Dutch tactician added.
"Despite my confidence in my player’s ability to win the league title this season, I have to tactically deal with every game separately as I don't pay attention to the points gap with the closest competitor," Jol concluded.
