Maqassa's adventure in the Confederation Cup ended on Wednesday when they drew 1-1 at home to Ahly Tripoli in Fayoum to exit the competition on the away goal rule.
The Egyptian side, who settled for a goalless draw in the first-leg in Tunisia last week, went ahead on aggregate when Ghanaian striker Nana Puku opened the scoring after 18 minutes.
However, Ahly's forward Zakareya Al-Lafy stunned the hosts with ten minutes remaining, lifting the Libyan side to the Confederation Cup group stage.
Maqassa were making their continental debut in Africa's secondary club competition and there were early signs they could go farther after some fine displays in the preliminary rounds.
However, they came down to earth following Wednesday's draw, which came hard on the heels of some stuttering displays in the domestic league.
