Ismaily will be hosting bitter rivals Ahly in Friday's anticipated Egyptian league match at Petro Sport stadium in Cairo instead of Alexandria's Borg El Arab Stadium, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Wednesday.
"Interior ministry approved holding the match at Petro Sport stadium and both clubs were informed of the new venue," EFA said in a statement via its official website.
A controversy arose after security services refused to host the match at Borg El Arab stadium, but EFA officials managed to get approval for the new location.
Beating Ismaily is a must for Ahly if the club wants to continue their campaign towards a 38th Egyptian Premiere league title.
The Reds' domestic campaign was dealt a major blow after last week's 3-2 loss to Masry, which allowed defending champions Zamalek to edge up to five points behind league leaders Ahly with three matches left in the season.
"We still lead the league table. We only need four points from the coming three matches to ensure the league title," Ahly's Dutch Martin Jol said after the loss to Masry.
Ismaily stand in 7th place with 47 points, 24 behind Ahly.
