Ahly assistant coach Mohamed Abdel-Azim said the team's Saturday game against Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca is a must-win if they want to keep their CAF Champions League semifinal dreams alive.

"To reach the CAF Champions League semis depends on the result of the game against Wydad, so we have to win it," Abdel-Azim was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Friday.

"We prepared well for the game and players have motivation to win and get the three points to improve our position in Group A," he added.

Ahly started their Champions League group stage campaign by losing their first two games, 3-2 to Zambia's ZESCO and 2-1 to ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, while Morocco's Wydad Casablanca won their first two group stage games.

The Red Devils will host Wydad Casablanca on 16 July on Group A’s third match day.

Wydad Casablanca are leading Group A of the CAF Champions League with six points, while Ahly are in the tail of the group with zero points after losing their first two games.
