Ahly players and technical staff under the helms of Martin Jol announced they are determined to win Wednesday's match against Moroccan side Wydad, to keep their slight hope of reaching the CAF Champions League semi-finals alive.

"Winning is our only option. We know all our opponent's details ahead of the anticipated game and it's not impossible to defeat the Morocco champions," Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiiz told his club's official website on Tuesday.

The Reds will be hosted by the Moroccan team in the fourth round of the prestigious continental competition group stage. The two sides drew 1-1 in Alexandria on 17 July in the third round.

"Despite the expected fans pressure, Ahly players have enough experience to pass this tough test and they only need luck," Abdel-Hafiz added.

Ahly are bottom of Group A of the CAF Champions League with only one point while Wydad are on top with seven.

The eight-time African champions need to win their remaining three matches, including away games against Wydad and ASEC, to stand a chance of booking one of two group tickets to the semi-finals.

Ahly, who won the last of their record eight Champions League titles in 2013, were recently crowned with the Egyptian league title after losing it last season to rivals Zamalek.
