Defending league champions Ahly will be keen to continue their winning run in an attempt to overtake leaders Maqassa at the top when the Reds host Talae El-Geish at Cairo's El-Salam Stadium on Wednesday.
Having bounced back after two consecutive draws to record convincing wins over Tanta and El-Entag El-Harby, Ahly manager Hossam El-Badry will be looking to make it three wins in a row against a fifth-placed Geish side.
The Cairo giants, however, are expected to have a tough challenge against the military side who have yet to lose in the league so far this season – having won and drawn four times in eight games.
The visitors will also be entering the game with high morale after overcoming Alexandria's Ittihad 2-1 last week, having come back from one goal down to score the winner deep into stoppage time.
Ahly, on the other side, will still be missing long-term absentee Ramy Rabia due to a niggling knee injury, with skipper Hossam Ghaly is also yet to recover from a hamstring problem.
Striker Emad Meteb, who has yet to feature under El-Badry this season, did not make the squad amid rumors that the veteran hitman would leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Ahly are currently second of the league table on 23 points, only one adrift of Maqassa.
