The coach of Ahly football team, Hossam El-Badry, has announced that his team is ready to face Zamalek anytime at any venue, saying he isn't concerned by the debate over the date and location of the upcoming derby match.
"We are preparing well for Thursdays game against Zamalek without paying attention to its date," El-Badry was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"The technical staff and the players are concentrating on the preparations for the game and they are ready to face Zamalek at any place or any time," he said.
Last Friday, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that the Cairo derby between Ahly and Zamalek was set for Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium on Thursday 29 December.
However, the Zamalek president rejected the idea of playing the match in Alexandria, asking the EFA to either postpone the game or move it to the Petro Sport stadium in Cairo.
The EFA is due to discuss the fate of the fixture at a meeting on Sunday after Zamalek threatened to pull out.
Ahly are on top of the league table with 42 points, eight points clear of Zamalek who have two matches in hand.
