Ahly will renew the contracts of veteran duo Emad Meteb and Hossam Ghaly according to the Cairo giants head coach Hossam El-Badry.
The contracts of both players with Ahly run until the end of the current season, with their situation not clear until now.
"Meteb and Ghaly will renew their contracts with the club. They will remain with us in the coming season," El-Badry told DMC TV Channel on Friday.
Skipper Ghaly, 35, has been playing consistently with Ahly since the start of the season, but vice-captain Meteb made only rare appearances after suffering a series of injuries, making him the most likely player to leave the Reds by the end of the season.
Ghaly and Meteb, who both came from the Ahly youth ranks, established themselves as key stars for the Cairo team in recent years, guiding them to a host of titles.
Ahly currently lead the Egyptian league table with 45 points, 11 ahead of rivals and third placed Zamalek who still have two games in hand.
