Mahalla hold Gouna in volatile match

Gouna, Ghazl El-Mahalla share points in the sixth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday

Gouna came from behind and edged to snatch a point from the 2-2 draw with Ghazl El-Mahalla in the sixth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.

Mahala’s early lead by Mohamed Abdullah, who braced in the 21st and 43rd minutes, was denied by Gouna striker Sherif Ashraf, who scored in the 59th minute, and Ashour Al-Adham, who doubled the score in the 65th minute, to finish the game at a 2-2 draw.

Game referee Ahmed El-Adawi showed the red card for four players from the two sides: Mahala’s Samuel Owusu in the 35th minute; goalkeeper Ibrahim Farag at the 66th minute; and Gouna’s Osman and Samuel Ocran at the 36th and 67th minute, respectively.

Gouna have eight points after today’s draw, while Mahalla remain at the bottom with only two points.
