Moroccan midfielder Omar Najdi scored a 12th minute winner against newly promoted side Dakhleya 1-0 to fire Maqassa to the top of the Egyptian Premier League table.
Maqassa have now collected 11 points from six games just like Ahly who will play ENPPI later on Monday and one ahead of third-placed Zamalek who have two games in hand.
In Port Said, Masry ended their four-match winless run after beating Arab Contractors 1-0. Ahmed Zahran shot from inside the six yards to grab the full points of the game in the 74th minute. Talaat Youssef’s men climbed to fourth place, with ten points after six games.
