Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour said Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio will arrive in Cairo on Saturday for talks over the possibility of hiring him to replace outgoing manager Mohamed Helmi.

The Cairo giants parted ways with Helmy upon his request last week. They have since been in talks with other foreign tacticians to find a coach who can lead the team in the Egyptian Premier League, Egypt Cup and CAF Champions League.

Negotiations with Frenchman Alain Giresse fell through after Zamalek said they would not be able to meet his financial demands, turning their attention to Inacio who has managed plenty of clubs in Portugal and led Sporting Lisbon to the league title in 2000.

"Portuguese coach Inacio will arrive in Cairo on Saturday and we will hold talks with him over the contract details," Zamalek chairman Mansour said during the club's general assembly on Friday.

Zamalek lie third in the Egyptian Premier League table with 40 points, 12 behind leaders Ahly who have played one more match.
