Egypt's Ahly will be looking to reclaim top spot in their African Champions League group when they host Morocco's Wydad Casablanca in Alexandria at 23:00 CLT on Sunday.
Zambia's Zanaco moved top of Group D on Saturday when they beat bottom side Coton Sport of Cameroon 2-1. They have seven points from three games, three ahead of Ahly.
The Cairo giants made a unconvincing start to their group-stage campaign, settling for a 0-0 draw at home with Zanaco. However, they recovered by beating Coton Sport 2-0 away in the second round.
"We are ready to win the game against Wydad to continue leading the group," Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"Ahly and Wydad will shape Group D to the quarterfinals so the two teams will do their best to win."
"I am confident of my players' ability to beat the Moroccan side at Borg El-Arab Stadium to get the three points of the game," El-Badry added.
Wydad made a fine start, beating Coton Sport 2-0 at home, but they lost their second round game against Zanaco in Zambia. They are third on three points.
"The Moroccan side are organized and have talented players, but Ahly is the best team in Egypt and Africa," the Ahly tactician said.
Ahly, who are bidding for their 9th CAF Champions League title, will face Wydad without the services of striker full-back Mohamed Hany due to injury.
