Morocco and Difaa El Jadida striker Walid Azaro
Morocco international striker Walid Azaro says he would prefer to join Egyptian giants Ahly, despite having received some offers from European clubs.
"Yes I have received offers from Europe and especially from France but I prefer the offer of Ahly that is more interesting," Azaro was quoted as saying on Moroccan website Les Lions de l'Atlas.
Ahly have revealed their interest in signing the 21-year-old attacker and it is believed they are in advanced talks with his club Difaa El Jadida.
The deal could be finalised in the next few days as Morocco have a crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon on Saturday.
"When I got the offer, I immediately informed the club's directors of my will to join Ahly. I know that this big club will open the door for new horizons," he added.
Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry has made Azaro his top priority this summer to replace departed Ivorian striker Souleymane Coulibaly.
