Zamalek will rest some key players when they face Petrojet in the Egyptian Premiere League on Tuesday, as the Whites prepare for a crucial test in the African Champions league on Sunday.

Portuguese coach Augusto Inacio has decided to exclude exhausted prominent trio Ali Gabr, Tarek Hamed and Bassem Morsi from the local test to give them more rest ahead of facing CAPS United in the fifth round of the Champions league group stage.

Zamalek, who already lost the domestic title to arch rivals Ahly, currently lie third at the Egyptian league table with 60 points from 31 matches, 20 behind the champions.

Petrojet comeslie in the eighth place with 42 points.

The Cairo giants, Zamalek, will be eyeing extending their winning streak to five league games.

Beating the petroleum side will be a must for Zamalek who face a stiff rivalry from fourth placed side Masry for a third-place league finish to ensure a place at the African Confederation Cup next season.

The Victory will also be a good boost for Zamalek that currently struggle in their Champions league group stage campaign, lying third in Group B with 5 points after a single win and two draws.

On the other side, Petrojet will be searching for their first win since the 1-0 league victory over Maqassa on 6 May. They lost twice and held to a draw once in their last three league matches.
