Ahly's manager Hossam El-Badri believes the win over arch-rivals Zamalek on Monday crowns an excellent season from the club.
Ahly claimed a deserved 2-0 win over Zamalek to maintain an unbeaten run in 34 league games.
"I am very happy with my team's victory in the Cairo derby." El-Badry told a TV program on Monday.
"I thanked my players for their efforts during the game. They delivered a good performance to claim a deserved win."
"That win crowned an excellent season from my team."
"We faced many difficulties throughout the season but we managed to overcome all challenges to realise our target." he added.
El-Badry guided Ahly to win their 39th league title with four games to spare before helping the eight-time African champions to reach the Champions League quarters.
Ahly will face Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis in the competition's quarter next September.
