Zamalek have completed the signing of Wadi Degla defender Mahmoud Alaa, the Cairo giants announced on Saturday.

The club neither disclosed the transfer fee nor the length of the contract.

Both clubs have differed over the transfer fee in recent days, with Degla reportedly putting an EGP 12 million price tag on Alaa.

The 26-year-old scored 5 goals in 31 league appearances with Wadi Degla last season.

The Whites aim to bolster their shaky defence after leaking 24 goals in the league last season.

They finished third with 66 points, 18 behind leaders and arch-rivals Ahly.
