Zamalek forward Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razik has been unveiled as the new signing by Saudi club Al-Raed FC on a one-year loan deal.
"The Zamalek board has agreed to all the contract's terms and conditions to bring Shikabala to Al-Raed. The papers will be signed Thursday evening," the Saudi side announced on Thursday.
Al-Raed's vice president Abdel-Rahman Al-Ayed is currently in Cairo to finalise the deal.
The Cairo giants had announced earlier that the 31-year-old had received various offers from which he would choose his favourite.
The former international forward is one of the most popular players in the club's history. He played in Europe twice; first with the Greek PAOK (2005-2007) and then with Portuguese Sporting in 2014, with whom he made a single appearance.
Abdel-Razik returned to Zamalek in the 2015 winter transfer window after terminating a loan with Ismaily by mutual consent. He has so far failed to regain his full form and re-establish himself with the White Knights.
He played in the Gulf once with Emirati Al-Wasal on loan (2012-2013).
With Zamalek, Shikabala helped win two Egyptian leagues (2003 and 2004), four Cups (2002, 2008, 2013 and 2016) and one Super Cup (2016).
He was one of the Pharaohs who won the African Cup of Nations in 2010.
Al-Raed are currently bidding for a place among the top four in the Saudi Professionals League, after finishing last season 5th with 35 points.
