Ahly have completed the signing of Kahraba El-Ismailiya defender Mahmoud El-Gazzar, the Cairo giants announced on Monday.
"The 20-year-old penned a four-and-a-half-year contract," read a statement on Ahly's official website on Monday.
Ahly have been on the lookout for a new defender following the repeated injuries of defenders Saad Samir, Rami Rabia and Mohamed Naguib, who were all sidelined for several weeks this season.
With the numerous absences from the team's backline, coach Hossam El-Badri introduced fullbacks Mohamed Hani and Ayman Ashrah at the heart of the team's defence on many occasions this season.
El-Gazzar is Ahly's third signing in the January transfer window, after Ghazl El-Mahalla youth's midfielder Mohamed Fakhry and Enppi goalkeeper Ali Lotfi, who joined the Red Devils earlier this month.
