Egyptian Champions Ahly will finalise a deal with an international marketing company to play Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in a friendly in Doha on 7 January.
“We are now ready to sign the contracts after recieving all the necessary green lights,” the Cairo-based club marketing manager Adly El-Keiy told Ahram Online.
“The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) and the security authorities approved the game after the club’s management and technical staff welcomed it,” El-Keiy added.
The six-time African Champions League champions needed a confirmation from the association after asking to postpone their Egyptian Premier League game against El-Entag El-Harby from 10 to 11 January.
“Bayern’s friendly is a good experience for the team on the tactical levels and it will please the fans too,” Red Devils football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz said earlier.
The 36-time Egyptian League champions will receive $200,000 from the sponsorships for participating in the game and all other details will be discussed soon.
The offer also includes a friendly against Spain’s Real Madrid in Cairo at a later point, but no further information on the matter has been revealed.
