Egyptian club Ismaily have appointed Algerian Kheireddine Madoui as their new head coach, succeeding Portuguese manager Pedro Barny.

"Welcome Kheireddine Madoui, the new Ismaily head coach," the coastal club stated Thursday afternoon.

The 41-year-old tactician started his coaching career at Algerian side ES Sétif in 2010 and gained fame winning the 2015 African Champions League and Super Cup.

He then coached Saudi Al-Wehda Club in 2015/16 season and his last experience was with Tunisian side Étoile sportive du Sahel.

Ismaily ended this season in second place in the Egyptian Premier League with 68 points, 20 less than winners Ahly.

Earlier this month, Ismaily ended their Egypt Cup bid in the semifinals after losing 1-4 to winners Zamalek.

The 51-year-old Barny, who took over as manager last winter, was the third coach to take charge of Ismaily this past season, succeeding Abou-Taleb El-Essawi who took over after the departure of Frenchman Sebastien Desabre.
