Playmaker Ayman Hefni and winger Mostafa Fathi, who are still recovering from injuries, were left out of the Zamalek squad announced on Tuesday for the match against Kuwait's Qadsia in the Arab Club Champions Cup on Friday.
The Cairo giants will be hosted by Qadsia in Kuwait in the second leg of the tournament's round of 32. The first leg in Cairo ended with a 0-0 draw on 11 August.
Zamalek coach Christian Gross said that his club will not be facing an easy test in Kuwait, but he expressed full confidence in his players to reach the next round.
"The Qadsia match won't be easy at all. We will face a strong team with prominent players. We studied our opponent well and our main target is to reach the next round," the coach was quoted as saying in Zamalek's official website on Tuesday.
"Playing in front of Qadsia fans won't be a problem for us at all, as our players are experienced enough to play under pressure. Both teams share the same chance to win."
"I expect Egyptian fans in Kuwait to attend the match. I know that Zamalek is very famous there and the supporters' attendance would be a great boost for us," he concluded.
The White Knights are currently on top of the Egyptian Premier League table with 17 points, two ahead of the second-place Pyramids, who still have a game in hand.
