Zamalek striker Kabongo Kasongo netted his first international goal as DR Congo played out a 1-1 draw with Congo in their African Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday.
With Britt Assombalonga picking up an injury in the warm-up, Kasongo stepped in and he did not disappoint on only his second international appearance.
He opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a simple tap-in after the keeper parried a free kick into his path.
However, DR Congo could not hold onto their lead as Thievy Bifouma equalised seven minutes before the break.
DR Congo are third on six points, one behind second-placed Liberia and two short of leaders Zimbabwe with one round remaining.
Kasongo joined Cairo giants Zamalek from Alexandria-based club Ittihad in the summer of 2017.
He scored 14 goals in all competitions last season and played a key role in helping Zamalek win the Egypt Cup. He has netted three goals in 11 games so far this term.
