Zamalek claimed on Monday their sixth successive win in the Egyptian league this season after defeating Gouna 3-0 at Petro Sports stadium.

Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi opened the scoring for Zamalek three minutes after the break, then substitute Omar El-Saeid doubled the score in the 68th minutes of the game.

With these two goals, Sassi and El-Saeid, opened their scoring accounts with the club after joining Zamalek last summer from Saudi side Al-Nasr and Egyptian league outfit Wadi Degla respectively.

In the 70th minute, Mahmoud 'Kahraba' Abdel-Moneam sealed the rout, tacking his goal tally with the club to six goals so far.

Zamalek keeper Mahmoud 'Gennesh' Abdel-Rehim had a hand in Monday's clear victory after blocking a penalty from Gouna's midfielder Ahmed Magdy in the 72nd minute of the game.

After a boring 25 minutes, Gouna midfielder Ahmed Magdy made the first threat of the game against Zamalek when his powerful shot from outside the area was denied by the bar after a touch from keeper 'Gennech'.

Seven minutes later 'Kahraba' squandered a golden chance after receiving a nice pass from Congolese striker Kabongo Kasongo, which made him clear but his effort went wide.

Zamalek fullback Abdallah Gomaa sent a powerful shot from outside the area but Gouna Keeper denied the ball.

Seconds before the break, Kasongo failed to put his side ahead before heading to the looker room after his close-range shot was easily collected by Gouna's keeper.

Zamalek started the second half in style needing only three minutes to score, thanks to Ferjani Sassi who met a pinpoint cross from Abdallah Gomaa to score easily.

Gouna reacted by intensifying their attacks in order to level the score but without a real threat.

Substitute striker Omar El-Saeid doubled the score eight minutes after the hour-mark, after receiving a nice pass from Kaharaba to score easily in an empty net.

Two minutes later, Kahraba turned from provider to scorer when he scored the third goal with a nice touch to confirm Zamalek's win.

The visitors gained a penalty just one minute after Zamalek's third goal following a mistake from Zamalek defender Mohamed Abdel-Salam against Gouna's Nigerian striker Elvis Chikatara, but Zamalek keeper Gennesh blocked the penalty.

With the win, Zamalek cemented their place on the top of the league table with 32 points, six points ahead second placed Maqassa, who played two matches more.
