The chairman of Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids Turki Al-Sheikh has announced the sacking of coach Hossam Hassan after the 3-3 draw with leaders Zamalek on Thursday.

"I will hold a meeting with Hossam El-Badri (the club's president), Ahmed Hassan (the club's spokesman) and number of players to prepare for the coming stage," Al-Sheikh wrote on his official Facebook page.

"We will choose a new technical staff," the club's chairman added.

The big-spending side played out a 3-3 draw with Zamalek in a postponed game from the ninth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

Hassan, 52, was dismissed after some poor results as Pyramids were held to five draws in 11 matches. Although they have been unbeaten since the bald-headed boss took over in October, they lost ground in the title race.

Egypt's all-time leading scorer became the third coach to be sacked by Pyramids this season after Brazilian
Alberto Valentim and Argentinean Ricardo La Volpe.

"We will hire a big international coach who has managed teams and national teams as we have three choices that we will choose from," Al-Sheikh added.

Pyramids FC, who are second in the Egyptian Premier League team table with 39 points, will face El-Dakhleya on 4 February on the 21st matchday of the Egyptian Premier League.
