Egyptian Football Association president Samir Zaher announced the domestic league has been postponed for an indefinite period in the wake of Port Said’s deadly clashes.
Dozens were dead and hundreds wounded after thousands of Masry fans invaded the pitch following the team’s 3-1 Egyptian Premier League victory over Ahly.
“The league has been postponed indefinitely,” Zaher said in a television interview. “The EFA and the National Sports Council will set up a fact-finding committee to find out the truth behind what happened.”
