Algeria forward Baghdad Bounedjah has denied rumors linking him with a move to any of Egyptian giants Ahly and Zamalek.

"Linking my name with Ahly and Zamalek is something honorable to me, but there're no confirmed news about what have been reported on social media," Bounedjah, who plays for Qatari club Al Saad, told Time Sports TV channel after Algeria's 3-0 victory over Tanzania in the African Cup of Nations on Monday.

The 27-year-old, who scored the first goal for Desert Foxes in their first Nations Cup game against Kenya, said he is committed to his team for many reasons.

"Joining Ahly and Zamalek at the meantime is impossible for many reasons, as I'm committed to a contract with Al Sadd, and there are many challenges awaiting the team in the Qatar Stars League and the Asian Champions League," he added

Bounedjah is one of Algeria's key players, having helped them qualify for the Nations Cup round of 16. He featured in all three victories over Kenya, Senegal and Tanzania.

Holders Ahly currently lead the Egyptian Premier League table with 74 points from 32 matches with two matches to spare, while archrivals Zamalek lie 3rd with 68 points from 31 matches.

The Egyptian league will be resumed after the Nations Cup concludes on 19 July.
