Egypt's Ahly are expected to seal smooth passage to the African Champions League group stage when they host Equatorial Guinea's Cano Sport in Alexandria on Saturday.

The Red Devils enjoy a comfortable 2-0 first-leg advantage in the second round as they seek to continue their bid towards their first triumph since winning the last of their record eight titles in 2013.

Ahly have made a fine start under new Swiss coach Rene Weiler, chalking up three straight wins that included an exciting 3-2 victory over Cairo rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup.

They also started the defence of their domestic league title with a 1-0 victory over Smouha last week.

Although Cano Sport are highly unlikely to stage a stunning comeback in Alexandria, Ahly are taking nothing for granted.

"Although we won 2-0 away from home, we have still not secured qualification yet," Ahly's assistant coach Sami Qomsan said.

"We need to build up on our recent wins and continue our campaign in the Champions League."

Influential Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul was left out of Ahly's squad as Weiler opts to rest him. The team welcome back Moroccan striker Walid Azaro after he recovered from injury.

Up to 5,000 fans will be allowed to attend the match at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium.
