Zamalek look much more convincing under Patrice Carteron after an indifferent start to the season under Serbian boss Micho and they will be looking to maintain their fine run when they face Talae El-Geish in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.

With French boss Carteron playing it safe by not altering Zamalek's usual formation, the team looked more coherent to secure three consecutive victories in the league, cup and the African Champions League.

Their recent 2-0 league victory over Pyramids was the most impressive, given that they totally dominated the game against one of the top sides of Egypt's premier domestic competition.

Micho was often criticized for his frequent tweaks as the team dropped five points in their opening five matches, but Carteron's pragmatic approach has yielded immediate results.

He can take heart from the recent fine displays of key men Achraf Bencharki and striker Mostafa Mohamed, with the latter opening the scoring against Pyramids with a brilliant glancing header in the second half.

El-Geish made a poor start to the season, collecting just four points from the first six games to sit third from bottom.

Carteron will have no right-backs at his disposal against El-Geish after Tunisian Hamdi Nagguez unilaterally terminated his contract in an abrupt manner and his understudy, skipper Hazem Emam, picked up an injury.

Either natural defender Mohamed Abdel-Ghani or youngster Ahmed Eid could take Emam's place on the right.
