Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi expects a tough game against Zimbabwe's FC Platinum on Saturday despite the latter' position at the bottom of their Champions League group.
"The game will not be easy as some might expect because Platinum will have the advantage of playing at home, surrounded by their fans, in addition to the harsh circumstances of playing in Africa due to the high temperature, humidity, and poor quality pitches," El-Shennawi told Ahly's official website.
The Reds are second in Group B which includes Tunisia's Etoile Sportive du Sahel who lead the group with six points, Al-Hilal of Sudan is third with also six points, and FC Platinum lie at the bottom of the group with no points.
The 31-year-old national team goalkeeper says he hopes Ahly can maintain their unbeaten record as much as possible, and that "all the players are focused. Our main target is victory, especially after the complicated situation in our Group B.
"There is no room for loss in Saturday's game to book our seat in the next round," he added.
Ahly's goalie talked about the points of strength of Zimbabwe's Platinum, explaining that their players have great positioning abilities, and they know how to play dangerous set pieces, in addition to their distinguished players, especially in both wings.
However, he stressed, Ahly can handle any point of weakness or strength of any team.
