Ahly's South African coach Pitso Mosimane has praised the performance of his team's players after reaching the CAF Champions League final game, confirming he has more tactics to introduce.

The Cairo giants defeated Morocco's Wydad Casablanca 5-1 in the Champions League two leg semifinal. Ahly defeated Wydad 2-0 in the first leg in Casablance last week and 3-1 in the return leg in Cairo on Friday.

"It was a difficult game but we won, I think we achieved a brilliant work in Morocco and we repeated it again in Cairo," Mosimane told Ahly's channel.

Meanwhile, Morocco's Raja will face Egypt's Zamalek in the second leg of the semifinal in Cairo on 1 November after the African football governing body postponed the game due to the large number of players in Raja squad contacted with COVID-19.

Zamalek defeated Raja 1-0 in the first leg in Casablanca last week.

"We will wait to know who will we face in the final, but the situation is still difficult as we only reached the final and we didn't claim the trophy," the Ahly coach said.

The final game of the CAF Champions League will be played on 6 November at Cairo International Stadium.

"My message for Ahly supporters is to be patient as I still more work to improve so we need time," he said.

The 56-year-old, Mosimane, who took charge of Ahly on 2 October, led the team to a record-extending 13th final and shoulders the burden of delivering their ninth trophy and their first since 2013.
