Zamalek forward Ahmed Gaafar revealed Sunday that many European clubs are interested in him during the summer transfer window.
“Turkish side FC Besiktas and Belgium’s Anderlecht are contacting me as they want me to join them next summer,” the 26-year-old footballer was quoted as saying on Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The Egyptian striker, whose contract with the Cairo-based club will expire this summer, also mentioned negotiations with a French club without revealing which club.
The former Ettisalat player may approve a European move as his current club is suffering a financial crisis, along with most Egyptian clubs, since the suspension of football competition in the country following the Port Said disaster at the beginning of February that left scores dead and hundreds injured.
