El-Badry during his spell as Jose's assistant coach
Cairo giants Ahly have held a news conference on Tuesday to announce the coaching staff that will assist new boss Hossam El-Badry.
“Sayed Abdel-Hafiz will remain in the dootball director position. Mohamed Youssef and Ahmed Ayoub will be El-Badry's assistants while Tarek Soliman will become the goalkeeping coach. Ehab Ali remains as the medical staff head, ” football committee head Hady Khashaba announced.
“I haven't made up my mind yet about the new tactical strategies that I will use,” former ENPPI coach El-Badry ,who took over for a second stint following the resignation of Portuguese manager Manuel Jose, said. El-Badry was criticized by many Ahly fans during his previous spell at the helm for resorting to a 4-4-2 formation that was not so successful.
Ahly are preparing for a tough battle in the African Champions League group stage, where they were drawn with arch-rivals Zamalek, TP Mazembe of DR Congo and Ghana's promising outfit Chelsea, who are making their maiden appearance in the competition.
