Ahly's coach Hossam El-Badry has said the side's high-scoring victory over Ghana's Chelsea in the third game of the CAF Champions League on Saturday was thanks to the solid experience of his players.
"The game against Chelse was difficult as their chances of reaching the coming round of the Champions League had risen after Zamalek's loss to TP Mazembe of the DR Congo" El-Badry said at a post-game news conference.
The Cairo giants maintained their 100 per cent record in the African Champions League group stage with Saturday's 4-1 home victory over Ghana’s Berekum Chelsea.
"I am confident of my players' performance, they can cover for sidelined [injured or suspended] players anytime," El-Badry said.
He added that the team still has to achieve the target for qualifying for the next round but they are confident of victory.
"Ahly will win the CAF Champions league title and dedicate it to the victims of Port Said [who died in February 2012's football tragedy]," El-Badry said.
"We will pay the players rewards for winning the games again Zamalek and Chelsea."
The Cairo giants' director, Sayed Abdel-Hafiz announced Sunday on the club's official website that Rami Rabea and Ahmed Shokri will be added to the squad to replace suspended and injured players in their forthcoming games.
