Zamalek will take on Spanish club Real Mallorca in a friendly match on 13 October in Spain, the Cairo giants announced on Wednesday.

"Zamalek will arrive in Spain on 11 October and will hold one training session before the match," the club revealed in statement on their official website.

"Coach Jorvan Vieira has welcomed the idea of playing the match as it will be good preparation just a few days before the new season starts on 17 October," added the statement.

The Whites are currently preparing for Sunday's derby with rivals Ahly in the final round of CAF Champions League group stage.

The match will be held behind closed doors at Alexandria's Borg Al-Arab Stadium for security reasons.

Ahly have already booked their place in the semi-finals, while the Whites have lost any hope of qualifying after a disastrous campaign.

Ahly are top of Group B with ten points, alongside TP Mazembe, while Zamalek – who were held to a 1-1 draw with Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea on 1 September – are currently bottom with one point.

Ahly beat Zamalek 1-0 last month behind closed doors in the first Cairo derby to be held in the absence of fans.
