Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan has decided to prepare Amr Zaki to lead the team’s front line in the second leg of preliminary stage of the African Champions League against Kenyan side Ulinzi Star on Sunday in Military Academy Stadium.
The white knights striker has been out of action since October due to a serious knee injury and he finished his medical program in Qatar.
The coaching staff had to rush Zaki’s rehab program because his Algerian substitute Mohamed Amin Aoudia sustained an injury during Al-Sharqya Lel-Dokhan’s friendly last Thursday.
On the other hand, the club board have officially requested Former Ajax Amsterdam Ahmed “Mido” Hossam’s licence as the Egyptian Football Association resumed their regular work.
The Egyptian side have won the first leg in Kenya 4-0 last month and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) agreed to postpone Zamalek’s home match after Egypt’s demonstrations. There were negotiations to hold the game in Libya before the protests dominated there too.
