Zamalek was handed a LE30,000 fine for allowing fans to attend their 2-0 win over Ismaily in the Egyptian League on Friday.

Television cameras showed some supporters at the stadium during the game, in contradiction with the competition's rules which stated that all games will be played behind closed doors for security reasons following last year's Port Said disaster.

According to the competition's current rules, only the club's board members have the right to attend the club's matches.   

"Zamalek was given a LE30,000 fine for the presence of many persons not tasked with matter at the stadium," read a statement on the Egyptian Football Association's official website.

Ismaily assistant coach Saafan El-Saghir was slapped with a four-match ban and a LE5,000 fine for inappropriate protest against the referee’s decisions.   

The Zamalek board revealed that the fans in attendance were Mustafa Abdel-Jalil, Libya's former National Transitional Council chief who is a Zamalek supporter, and his guards, the club having invited him to watch the game at the stadium.

Ahly's coach Hossam El-Badry was also fined LE15,000 after he skipped the  Maqassa-Ahly post-match news conference.
