Egypt and Zamalek goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed is expected to miss his team's game against Ismaily in the Egyptian League final round.
"Abdel-Wahed may miss Zamalek's game against Ismaily in the final round of the Egyptian Premier League on 29 June due to the rib injury he sustained in Zimbabwe on Friday," Zamalek's Doctor Mostafa El-Munairi reveals on Monday.
The 36-year-old goalkeeper was ruled out of the 4-2 win over Zimbabwe in the 2014 World Cup qualifier in Harare after sustaining a rib injury.
The Cairo giants, Zamalek have been drawn to face Ismaily in the opener game of the Egyptian Premier League final round that kicks off on 29 June, while rivals Ahly will play the team that qualifies out of either ENPPI or Smouha.
Ahly and Zamalek booked their place in the Egyptian Premier League final round after topping Groups A and B respectively, while Ismaily came as the runners-up of Group B.
After a massacre of 79 fans in Port Said stadium, this season’s Egyptian Premier League is played over two groups for the fifth time in the competition’s 65-year history. Winners and runners-up of each group will qualify for the semifinals.
Egypt’s premier domestic competition went by the same format in the 1957-58, 1962-63, 1963-64 and 1975-76 seasons.
