Zamalek have responded to reports about a dispute at Hurghada airport between three players and an air force officer.
"What happened was a dispute between two civilians, one of them was Mahmoud Abdel-Razik 'Shikalaba' and the other was a man wearing a red shirt," Zamalek said in a statement on Monday.
"The club and its officials and fans respect the military and all its members," Zamalek added.
The flight from Hurghada to Cairo was delayed for over an hour on Monday after the team's star player Shikabala was involved in a personal conflict with an officer at the airport.
The players filed a complaint at Cairo Airport as soon as they landed while reports said that he and two teammates, Hazem Emam and Salah Soliman, were arrested and questioned for "abusing a military officer."
The Cairo-based team was returning from Gouna after beating South Africa's Orlando Pirates 2-1 on Sunday in round four of the African Champions League group stage.
