Ahly winger Sayed Mowad will be out of action for four weeks after picking up an injury during Sunday's 2-1 win over Maghreb de Fes.

"Mowad will miss the FIFA Club World Cup tournament with a muscle injury," Ahly's doctor told the club's official website after the friendly match.

Midfielder Ahmed 'Manga' Nabil will replace Mowad in the 23-man squad for the prestige tournament.

Cairo giants Ahly will represent Africa in the world competition for the fifth time after winning the African trophy earlier this month at the expense of the Orlando Pirates of South Africa.

The Red Devils will start their campaign in Morocco on 14 December against Asian champions Guangzhou Evergrande of China in the quarterfinal. The winner will face European champions Bayern Munich in the semifinal on 17 December.

Ahly secured third place in the tournament in 2006.
