Zamalek duo Omar Gaber and Mohamed Ibrahim will not be quitting in the winter transfer window, coach Helmi Toulan insisted on Monday.

Defender Gaber was reportedly a target for French club Valenciennes, while Spanish side Malaga was recently in negotiations over the signing of striker Ibrahim.

"Gaber and Ibrahim will not leave Zamalek in January," Toulan was quoted as saying by Ahram Sport.

"There is no chance to let the duo go especially amid the absence of Shikabala and the possible move of Abdel-Malek," added the Whites coach.

The Cairo giants are already suffering the absence of playmaker Mahmoud Abdel-Razek 'Shikabala' who is boycotting the trainings for not getting his financial dues, while forward Ahmed Eid Abdel-Malek was recently linked with a move out on loan.

Egypt Cup title holders Zamalek are currently preparing for Ismaily in the third matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.

Zamalek are second in the Group B and hope to tackle leaders Ismaily, who has so far enjoyed a perfect start with six points in two games on the hot foot of 21-year-old Ghanian striker John Antwi.
