Ahly have officially and amicably terminated the contract of their Mauritanian striker Dominique Da Silva after reaching an agreement with the player to waive payments due to him, the club announced on Thursday.
The out-of-favour Mauritanian striker asked to part ways with the club on Wednesday, whereby Ahly's management held a meeting with the players and agreed to his request.
"The player agreed to give up his dues to the team to be a free agent this winter," Ahly football director Hady Khashaba told the club's official website.
Endowed with strength and speed, Da Silva -- who joined Ahly in 2011-- sustained several injuries that hampered his opportunity to book a regular place with the African Champions' squad.
