The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) is planning a quick response to FIFA's warning about government interference in the affairs of Ahly and Zamalek.
World football's governing body sent a letter to the Egyptian FA on Saturday warning football activity in the country could be suspended following complaints of government interference by the Cairo clubs.
Sports Minister Taher Abouzeid sacked the Zamalek board and installed Kamal Darwish as interim president two months ago.
The minister also sacked the Ahly board but Prime Minster Hazem El-Beblawy suspended the decision.
Ahly and Zamalek lodged a complaint with FIFA against the sports minister and the football association, citing government interference in the clubs' affairs.
"We are awaiting your support as the Egyptian Football Association won't help us because it is controlled by the sports minister," Ahly said in its complaint to FIFA.
