Egypt's friendly match with Equatorial Guinea will be played on 26 March in Morocco, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said.

The Pharaohs were initially scheduled to play the friendly game in Dubai on 28 March but the date and the venue were changed.

"Equatorial Guinea was committed to another friendly match near Morocco on 28 March so the date and venue of the game were changed," EFA board member Seif Zaher explained in a TV interview on Sunday.

The match comes as part of Egypt's preparations for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

It will be the first test for the Pharaohs' new boss Hector Cuper who took over last week.

The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers are set to start in June, followed by the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in October.

The first challenge will be to bounce back into Africa's football elite after three failed attempts in a row at qualifying for the Nations Cup.
