The recent axed Egypt coach Hassan Shehata revealed that he knows nothing about reported negotiations with the Bahrain Football Association to take charge of their national team.
“I was in talks with Bahraini FA last season but now there are no talks,” Shehata told Bahraini newspaper Al Watan.
“I only received one formal offer from Oman but I didn’t take a decision until now,” he added.
The 64-year-old tactician confirmed that he would prefer to coach a national team over a club side.
“After leading the Egypt national team, it’s difficult to deal with local sides,” Shehata asserted.
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) last week announced Shehata's resignation after the national team failed to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations.
